NFL Regular Season 2016 Week 1 Game Preview
Denver - The 2016 NFL season gets started on Thursday night with a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl as Carolina hits the road to face Denver, but the Panthers and especially the Broncos will have a different look in week one. Carolina will be looking for some revenge and with wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin back, it gives Cam Newton another weapon, but the Broncos defense could be the best in the league and with a new starting quarterback Trevor Siemian, they will need to be at their best in the season opener.
Sunday night's nationally televised contest will feature New England on the road to face Arizona. The Patriots will be without Tom Brady and facing a tough Cardinals defense, it will put the entire team under pressure, but young signal caller Jimmy Garoppolo has been groomed for this job and fans will get a first-hand look at the future of the franchise.
The Cardinals have been picked by several experts to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl and a test like this to start the season is big. Quarterback Carson Palmer must forget about his performance in last year's playoffs and play like the veteran he is. If this team comes out firing, it could be over by half-time, but expect Bill Belichick to have his squad ready and this to be one of the best games of week one. Los Angeles will close out the week on Monday night in San Francisco is a battle of NFC West rivals. Both teams are expected to struggle this season, but for the Rams and 49ers, a win to start the year could bring the confidence needed to have a good year. It's great to have the NFL back and this season could be one of the most exciting in recent memory. With 17 weeks of action and a number of great story lines, fans are in for a treat and it all gets started on Thursday night.
